We’ve been here for

90 YEARS

a restaurant in operation since 1936

A workers’ canteen, back in 1936

Restaurace Přístav u Vodů — originally named U přístavu — was built in 1936 as a canteen for the labourers working on the dam. It served that purpose until roughly 1940.
After the Second World War the building was converted into a self-service summer restaurant and run under the state enterprise RAI Brno (Restaurants and Canteens Brno). Later an enclosed, year-round restaurant was built into one part of it, and it stayed that way until 1992.

The Voda Family

In 1993, during the wind-down of the state enterprises, it was bought at auction by the Voda family, who own it to this day — which is how the restaurant came by the name Přístav u Vodů.

Over the years it has been almost completely rebuilt, but always in keeping with the original style. The self-service buffet was dropped and the place became a proper sit-down restaurant, open year round with full table service.

Today the kitchen is built around fish and Czech classics, with a few touches of contemporary cooking on the menu.
